About This Spot

Stepping into Green Olive Market and Cafe in Squamish feels like entering a quietly vibrant corner of community warmth. The space hums with the gentle rhythm of neighbors exchanging hellos and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with hints of Mediterranean herbs. Its pace invites you to linger a little longer, whether you’re here for a thoughtful moment alone or a casual catch-up with friends.

The café’s atmosphere is unapologetically homey, touched by rustic charm and nods to Italian and Greek influences that echo through the decor and the carefully curated Italian groceries on display. It’s as if the warmth of a family kitchen meets the gentle buzz of a neighborhood meeting place, creating a space that feels both familiar and special.

Food here is a quietly crafted celebration of simple pleasures — sandwiches with crusty artisan bread, each bite revealing thoughtful layers of flavor like prosciutto paired with Swiss cheese, or hearty vegetarian options full of seasonal treasures. Hummus platters and Mediterranean eggs add a sunlit touch, while baking delights and coffee drinks invite subtle indulgence. The menu feels woven into the daily life of those who visit, shaped by personal tastes and shared moments rather than just a list of dishes.

This is a place where the passage of time is marked by the stories and smiles of regulars and newcomers alike. There’s a gentle steadiness in the way staff and customers move through the space, reflecting a sense of belonging that extends beyond the food and drink. Waiting a little longer for your coffee might just give you a chance to take it all in—the unspoken exchange of community and care that quietly defines Green Olive Market and Cafe.

Let’s begin with saying that this place is the definition of community. We stopped on our way back to Vancouver at this beautiful market and cafe for a small bite and coincidentally found out it is their 8th anniversary of being in the community. The people popping in to congratulate the owners was the biggest representative of the quality they established over years. The rest of the staff were also very friendly. Now about food, the hero sandwich was my absolute favourite. It was loaded and rich in flavour. The spicy Italian was delicious too. And that coffee was probably the closest to coffees we have in Europe. Smooth, creamy and rich. Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how cozy this spot was? All you need is some yummy food, a good book and spending time with the best view of chief! Finally, the pasta and pesto we picked was of highest quality. As amateurs, managed to cook one of the best pesto pastas ever! Do I recommend this place? Absolutely! Will we be back? Of course!

I ordered a vegan sandwich, hummus platter, strawberry matcha latte, and iced chai latte — all super tasty and fresh. The strawberry matcha latte ($8) was the highlight — creamy, refreshing, and perfectly sweet. I loved the flavors, but the portion sizes were quite small for the total bill of around $50, which is why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Amazing food and drinks, just wish the servings were a bit more generous, especially the coffee.

One of the best sandwiches I've eaten since Antibes. Try the excellentTartufo sandwich: delicious Swiss Gruyere cheese and prosciutto plus arugula on warm, fresh-baked artisan bread, beautifully with a dash of truffle oil. My friend also had the hummus platter and loved it.

BEST LUNCH and COFFEE SPOT I love this coffee! The sandwichs are well flavored, I always get the full veggie, I’m a fan of the artichoke and walnuts. Coffee is also my favorite hands down in all squamish! I would say the wait time is a bit long but 100% worth the wait every-time! Great job and keep doing what you do

This was a great find while passing through Squamish! It’s an interesting place with kind of an old-time homey feel to the decor, and they also sell some Italian groceries which you can browse while waiting in line. The menu has an Italian and Greek touch. They also have a full coffee menu, and I noticed the tea selection was especially impressive with quality brands. I got a green olive sandwich, which was an interesting combination of hummus, fig spread and fresh figs, olives, and arugula on a pita. I thought it worked surprisingly well! The overall flavour profile of the sandwich was savoury - the figs didn’t stand out as sweet when combined with the other ingredients. I also got an iced tea (lapsang souchong - a tea that I really like but rarely see in tea shops) and what they called an “ugly but beautiful” cookie. I don’t know what the type of cookie is actually called, but it seemed like a meringue-based biscotto with crunchy nuts inside. It was good - I liked the texture! I liked how they decorated the store, it had a homey vintage look. They were swamped when we visited but the staff was very pleasant nonetheless!

This place is truly a great stop !! We came in for sandwiches / coffee and left with 3 amazing sandwiches tied beautifully with twine (had a croissant sandwich , a traditional which was the FAV of ours and then a sweeter one with Brie , prosciutto and pear) each of them was amazing !! Had a misto, a London fog and a feature latte and each of us were stoked on our drink and then went back up to the till to get 3 sweets as they also looked amazing , banana bread, a coconut peanut butter ball , and then a cardamon black pepper twist was was so unique and somehow sweet and savory and spicy all tied together - we will definitely be coming back !!

A Hidden Gem in Squamish In every corner of Green Olive, and in every dish —whether it is a breakfast plate, a sandwich, or a sweet treat -– you can see and taste the owners’ commitment to perfection and excellence. The ingredients speak for themselves: always fresh, organic, and of exclusive quality, with many products shipped directly from Europe, such as their extra pure olive oil and authentic spanakopita. The staff is absolutely wonderful, warm and ultra attentive. Today, I enjoyed a tiramisu with my coffee, and I must say: I do not take coffee lightly. It has to be outstanding, or I simply cannot drink it. Green Olive is the place to enjoy a proper espresso. The tiramisu was beyond words (and the image doesn’t do it justice either): the cream felt dreamy, and the flavor elegant and refined. Just perfect. Come try it !
